An update on New World Rising in progress: about 10 hours worth of work later-- I have started to introduce some layers of Pan Pastel, which seems to adhere nicely to the oil surface. This work is beginning to feel like the encaustic I just finished with the same name. My approach to handling the paint is shifting to a thinner, scrubbier attack - enabling more transparent textures and glazing effects.
