Interesting thing about going into a new - huge- canvas with a pre-determined idea is how much floundering and internal conflict it precipitates. I wanted to do a water piece, but when I started working I found that I spent most of the first 3 sessions getting used to working big again-- after all, most of my recent work has been small ( 8"x8" encaustics ) or , at the most, 22"x30" works on paper. And here I am, dancing in front of a 6 footer. Well, I think I am getting my muscles back: Here is stage #2:
