New Pond 2012: Another stage

Working on this painting has been interesting.  In many ways it recalls

my earlier water paintings, at least in format.  However, in this one I am incorporating many of the  tools and methods I have been incorporating into my soft pastel and encaustic works- soft pastel and oil sticks are integrated into the imagery along with more traditional tube oil paint.  I often use scrapers and rags to apply the paint.
